What are the tools needed? From painting to the final sealing requires few common tools. These include:
What are the steps to applying the epoxy? The first day - You need to test if the floor is a good candidate for the coating. You need to follow the appropriate strategy, just keep in mind that preparation is more important and critical to a well-bonded epoxy floor paint job. Here are some tips to consider in preparing the floor.
The Second day - Mix and apply the epoxy paint. You have to do this for three to five minutes using a paint-mixer accessory. Make sure that the work space is properly ventilated and check the room temperature. For larger floors, mix equal amounts of the parts together. This guarantees the consistency of the color across the floor. After mixing, set aside the ingredients for 30 minutes in order for the mixture to combine chemically. Begin painting by working toward a door opening to have a nice exit strategy. After painting, let the floor cure for a day. The Third day - Roll on the second coat or the epoxy finisher. Coat the epoxy painted floor with a protective and non-slip sealer using a clean roller. Apply it in manageable sections. The epoxy finisher is applied the same way as the primer. Let the finisher cure for at least 24 hours to 48 hours before walking on it. For best results, do not step on the surface for another three days. The floor should look like a showroom. After curing a quick sweep and a polish and the surface will be attractive. Your floor is now easy to clean and free from damage. No water should be on the finished floor for as long as 7 days. The recommended cleaning of your epoxy-coated floor is every 6 months by using a soft deck brush. Rinse and squeegee are for best results. Take note that buffer pads are not recommended for cleaning the floor.
